Bricktown Update Bricktownship councilman Steve Acropolis deserves recognition for taking on the pay for play system in his town. In a refreshing display of integrity rarely seen in the insider game of Ocean County politics, Mr. Acroplis calls mayor Scarpelli and his cronies to the mat and.... Perish the political thought! In public Charges the Scarpelli Administration with operating A spoils system. Let The Spin Begin Spin is an appropriate description of what the pay for play party machine in Bricktown and Ocean County hope to achieve with the voters heads lest they accidentally absorb the truth about Pay for Play and the aptly named Spoils system. Enemy of my enemy my Friend As Spin Meister and Brick Mayor Joseph
Scarpelli claims, in his best Nixon-esque manner "I didn't do anything
wrong" Richard Schiff, mouthpiece for Robert K. Hailig's Pay for Play Empire, fearing the holes that have sprung up lately in their political Pirate Ship will sink further opportunities for spoil and plunder, charges Acropolis with hypocrisy while asserting, in stark contrast to his previously published opinions, that Pay for Play as it exists is preferable to ... egad ... reform. Birds of a feather? Pay For Play Mayor Scarpelli is rumored to run one of
the most blatant Pay for Play scams in Ocean County. Mayor S' owns a printing business, Mr. R' a democrat in Pinesville has a desire to volunteer in his community so he joins the local democratic Organization. Its not long before Lo and behold an opportunity presents itself and Mr. R' is asked to run for local office. Like a good citizen, Mr. R' Takes up the challenge and commits his time, energy, family and even his own money to the cause. Meanwhile unknow to our small town volunteer, Mr. A' the County Pay for Play Chairman (D) and Mayor S' are wringing their greedy little hands in anticipation of the sting. The plot unfolds when innocent Mr. R'
is approached by shifty little Mr. A' and some "people" That have
helped his campaign. The day arrives when its time for Mr.
A' the county Mr. A' approaches Mr. R' and
says we have a Well Mr. A' begins to turn a little
red in the face and Mr. R' feeling more than a little violated decides to leave others to their otherness and proceeds with a door to door campaign with the idea that he will ignore these games and just serve the residents of his little town. soMayor S' hires 10 Mr. So and So.'s
and pays them 150% of what their service is worth Yes, Mr. Acropolis certainly deserves the respect and support of the taxpayers in Bricktown but he might find that defeating the Pay for Play machine will be more difficult than it was for the Greeks to Evict the Turks from his namesake. END
